Center for Social Innovation

The Public Management Certificate (PMP) is evidence of a student’s preparation for and commitment to addressing public issues and can serve as an important signal to future employers. This academic option is available exclusively to MBA and Sloan Program students.

Certificate Requirements

There is no formal application process to begin work toward the PMP Certificate.

Requirements are:

• Being currently enrolled as a student at Stanford's Graduate School of Business
• 4 units from a qualifying economics course
• A minimum of 16 units total from PMP qualifying courses

Eligible Public Management Elective Courses

Certificate-eligible courses range from economics, marketing, operations, and organizational behavior to political economy and strategy. Examples include:
