February 18, 2010 Trae Vassallo, MBA '00 and Kleiner Perkins partner, discusses the company's green venture and green growth fund portfolio. Kleiner Perkins holds more than 50 green tech investments in renewables, efficiency, and transportation. Among other initiatives, the company is investing in energy sources that use garbage to generate electricity. According to Vassallo, "We saw a huge opportunity to ramp that up, and we also saw a lot of entrepreneurs who were coming to us with really deep, fundamental innovations in this area."
