This course explores the challenges and opportunities related to social entrepreneurship. Students study nonprofit, for-profit, and hybrid organizational forms, and examine issues from a variety of perspectives, including that of entrepreneur, CEO, funder, and board member.
The course is designed for students who seek to become leaders in social value creation, whether in the private, nonprofit, or government sectors. The course utilizes case studies, readings, and direct interaction with dynamic social entrepreneurs. Students carry out field-based research in teams, analyzing a significant strategic or operational issue of a social enterprise of their choosing.
